Gateshead FC Soul respond to demotion to the National League North

After a long wait, today has brought confirmation that Gateshead Football Club have been relegated into the National League North. The initial reaction is obviously one of disappointment and frustration – we are all feeling those same emotions.

But this is one minor setback in what can be a bright new era in the history of our football club.

We know we have done all we could of done and we accept the outcome of the hearing.

We are now in control of our own destiny, we now have a chance to become a football club that can make our town proud.

But we can’t do it alone – we need support from those in and around Gateshead.

There are still considerable challenges ahead, but we can overcome them by rallying together as we have done over the last Season and especially since the start of this Year.

The likes of Steve Watson, Ben Clark and their players showed the way on the pitch and we took their lead to back the club off it.

Gateshead fans have come together in a way they have never done before to form The Gateshead FC Soul Supporters Association and become an integral part of Gateshead Football Club

The Gateshead Soul Supporters Association urge everyone connected with the club to get behind our new group of directors and help us get back on the road to where we once were, knocking on the door of the Football League.

We must stay together, we must stay strong and we must remain positive. What went on last season was disastrous off pitch and we will need to work together to make sure that doesn’t happen again.

We need to draw a line, learn from the past and leave it there in the past. Let’s look forward not back. Let’s be positive, not negative.

Spread the word, tell everyone you know the HEED is very much ALIVE! – the hard work starts now and we all have a part to play.

Whose club? Our club!
